We invite all those catalyzing transformation in the face of ecological and climate breakdown to become co-creators on September 21, 2019.

The Day of Sustainable Communities is directly inspired by our partners in Europe.

The European Day of Sustainable Communities will be hosted for the third consecutive year in 2019. The European network called ECOLISE has organized coordination, funding, and website listing participating events. Last year in Europe, communities in 24 countries joined the celebration by organizing over 100 events. The momentum is continuing to grow!

We aim to launch the first North American Day of Sustainable Communities this year. A small amount of seed funding has been secured from GENNA Alliance, enough to coordinate preliminary activity and gain traction for future years. We are coordinating with European organizers to help launch the Day.

To celebrate local communities taking action for a more regenerative, just, and inclusive world, through hosting a day of events on September 21, 2019. We aim to coordinate and promote events happening throughout the US, Canada, and Mexico.

β€œIt is probable that the next Buddha will not take the form of an individual. The next Buddha may take the form of a community, a community practicing understanding and loving kindness, a community practicing mindful living. This may be the most important thing we can do for the survival of the earth.”
